Hugh Freeze spoke to the media during Wednesday's SEC teleconference. Here's a summary...
** Stepping into SEC play in a challenge mentally and physically in your preparation. It's what you play in this league for. Playing a very improved Arkansas team.
** Freeze mentions that Arkansas OL Fernando Carmona was a guy they wished they had got but ARK did a great job getting him in campus first and getting him out of the portal.
** Bobby Petrino's offense looks a little different at ARK than he did at TAMU. Good coaches adjust for the talent they have and Bobby is one of those coaches. Doesn't think the familiarity between Petrino and D.J. Durkin will have a big impact on game.
** There's nothing in Hank Brown's life that you can look out and say he's been less than. He's that type of kid and leader. Great teammate. Put in great work during offseason. Always prepared as the starter.
** Brown played behind some good players in HS and Freeze doesn't believe he started until his senior season. They didn't offer him at Liberty until halfway through senior season. Wasn't big on taking many of Liberty's players when he came here. We had a couple of weeks when he got here before Signing Day and made it an easy decision to choose Brown and the relationship made it easy to get him here.
** Walker White, like Brown, is a great human being. He leads the scout team better than probably any scout team I've seen. In the 15 practices we had in the spring, he really came on and has a chance of being a really good player at thie level.
** On Auburn's beating Arkansas soundly last year: Last year was last year and they've gotten much better with their roster. I don't think we have to convince our kids of that when you put in the tape. I think they know were in for an incredible challenge.
** Special teams will be huge in this game. Winning the field position battle or creating turnovers or points is a big winning edge on special teams.
