We are set to speak with Hugh Freeze following Auburn's annual A-Day. It was not your normal A-Day as it was a normal practice.

Follow along and refresh for all updates.

*** Thought we had a great spring. Love the chemistry in the building and the energy. Gotta get some guys healthy who weren't able to get through spring who they will depend upon.

*** Fans showed up for a nice day in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

*** Lot of credit for the good spring goes to the leadership and staff.

*** On talent disparity from two years ago: It's different in a good way. Not casting judgment on anybody else. You have to have top-10 recruiting classes to compete in this league. Thought it would take 3 recruiting classes and that is probably still accurate, but with the two we have we should compete.

*** On positions he is looking at in portal: "We have been discussing that in every personnel meeting." Hasn't heard anything on the settlement with NCAA. You are going to have to model it like an NFL roster. Haven't made final decision on how they will approach the portal. Can't turn down an offensive lineman or pass rusher.

*** Attention on Deuce and Jackson: It's been a blessing working with just two quarterbacks was really nice. I think it was needed for both of them. Feel like they are way ahead of the game. Both are hungry to study and got the majority of the reps.

*** On good day for Perry: "Perry is a hard guy to read." Had talks with him about other guys that have redshirted and gone on to do great things. Preaching patience to him. Thinks he is starting to see the success that comes with that.

*** On Deuce's day: He did okay. He threw a couple of late picks. He hadn't done that all spring. He has good instinct. It was out of character for him. Made some good throws trusting his receivers to be able to make a play.

*** On who has stepped up as vocal leaders: Defensively Champ Anthony and Keldric Faulk, both who were out this spring. Offensive side, Damari Alston, Horatio Fields, Connor Lew, Jackson will too but he's new.

*** On Jackson Arnold: "He's feeling fine. He just didn't have to run today." Mentions he had a great spring.

That's it for Hugh. Have a great Saturday!
