I was taken back quickly this morning, as I was my surgeons first for the day. Was told that they would leave me conscious up to the point they injected a spinal block so that I could help scooch myself over into the operating table. They pushed a little Versed (sp?) to get the anesthesia started and I don’t remember a damn thing after that. It’s a weird feeling to wake up and not feel anything (and I mean anything) below my waist. Surgery went well and in fact only took about half an hour according to my wife. Was released to go home about 2:30 and I’m looking forward to my next dose of Oxy at 6:00. I have no hip pain anymore, but my thigh from the incision to my knee hurts at about a level 7. Not much fun but it will pass. PT starts tomorrow at 1:00.
