If it's him....
1. It's pretty clear our coaching search was strong-armed by an old money faction. The same type of sh1t that gives the job a bad reputation, which the Bunker constantly complains about...yet half of you are rejoicing about it now.
2. This guy hasn't been at Ole Miss in 7 years and no other major program has touched him....just typical of Auburn to be that guy.
3. Why can't we go get somebody? We are taking the dude who has been begging for this job. LSU and USC went and got somebody last year. Wisconsin made a damn good hire. Yet we take a risk on a baggage guy tucked away at Liberty who again was begging for the job. We all talk about how we are a top 10-15 job and much better than Ole Miss or Oregon. Yet, we can't go pull anyone away from a "lesser" job.
4. His resume isn't the greatest thing ever. It just isn't. He's solid. What he's done at Liberty is nice, but they invested a lot of money into football before he got there and it wasn't as bad of a situation as you'd think. He also just lost to UCONN and then to New Mexico State by 100. What he did at Ole Miss was great for a couple years, but he still never won the West and he finished with a 5-7 season and then a scandal...complete thud.
I'm not looking for Freeze lovers to troll. It's time to come together. I admit it's not the worst hire imaginable. That was Harsin. There is potential for him to do a solid job. If the hire gets announced I will likely come around as he puts together a staff and recruiting class. But given my points above, I was hoping for more. He better keep his sh1t together off the field though. If not we are going to look like absolute morons. Will be looking forward to the next Will Herring video if that happens.
