I work for the Railroad and got called into work yesterday. My regular job this week is Mon thru Friday from 6AM to 6PM. However, as mentioned above, I had to work yesterday. The work load wasn’t anything out of the norm but it just about killed me yesterday! About 2:30 I started tingling and getting light headed. Had to sit down. I tried to get up 3 different times and almost passed out. After about 20 or 30 minutes, I was able to stand up and make it into the yard office to cool down. My hands, back and legs were cramping really bad! I was able to cool down and finish my job but woke up several times last night with severe cramps. I ate pickles, drank pickle juice and even ate straight mustard to help with the cramping. I drank water and Gatorade all day but evidently sweated it all out.
Anyone have any tips on preventing this from happening? I’ve got a Cool Rag in my cooler to help cool me down today. Thanks for your help and WDE!
