A couple of weeks ago. Few things to pass on (spolier: nothing earth shattering)
- The coaches expect A LOT from Carl Lawson and Tray Mathews this year. As of now, Lawson will start fall camp playing the Buck position. Depending on how Cowart comes along, I expect they end up both being on the field. One as the Buck, and the other as the end.
- It looks like our base defense will be a 3-4.
- There are 6 basic coverage schemes. Expect to see VERY little cover 2. Two different versions of the cover 3 seem to be the go to, with cover 1 right behind it.
- Corners are being coached and prepped for very aggressive play. It was said multiple times that "this 7+ yard cushion shit is done!"
- Mentioned our offenses' "sniffer" (Chandler Cox) as one that will be special.
- When we play teams that run the zone read, Tray Mathews (or whoever is playing his position) will be the most important player on the field.
- Quote of the day: "Let me tell you a secret about fat people. Fat people will get you beat."
