** Big week against highly-ranked opponent. LSU has same type of traditional defense. Very balanced on offense. Big game anytime Auburn and LSU get together.
** Aidan Marshall has left team, decided to do something different. Very excited about Arryn Siposs. Ian Shannon will be backup punter.
** Jack Driscoll, Mike Horton, Darius Slayton and Darrell Williams will practice today.
** Kevin Steele is a professional from the word Go. Great knowledge of league and great teacher. He's really good with relationships. Has defense in a really good spot. He's detailed and organized, and lets the players play.
** Loss to LSU was extremely tough last year. Was the turning point last year. A lot of lessons from that game to be learned in all phases. Most teams would have folded their tent after blowing a 20-point lead. Don't really have to say a lot about it. Players are extremely motivated right now.
** Cord Sandberg is getting better everyday. Has that professional approach. Usually doesn't make same mistake twice. Chip has been very impressed with him so far.
** Malik Willis has a lot of experience with the first- and second-teams. He can do better. Made a mistake on that safety. Expectations are high for him. We have confidence in him.
** Our schedule is a man's schedule. It's every week.
** Knew Shaun Shivers was a very good player when we recruited him. Runs a lot bigger than he is. He's confident, which is important for a true freshman. If he can hold into the ball, his carries will increase.
** Austin Troxell and Nick Brahms did a good job. Both can help us and both are pushing for more playing time.
** Saw some good stuff out of starting OL before a couple of players got banged up. Should see the guys get better as season goes on and they play more together.
** Greedy Williams just fits in line with great LSU cornerbacks in the past. Outstanding player.
** Would like to see more explosive plays on offense. Washington dropped their safeties to try to take away long passes. Need those big plays against quality opponents.
** Anthony Schwartz has progressed quickly since joining team right before fall camp. Very smart. Gives them a lot of flexibility.
** Being able to play the freshmen without worry of losing redshirt was big-time. Got a lot of good information on the guys playing against Alabama State.
** Have a very big advantage at home with crowd, stadium and atmosphere. Have won 13-straight at home.
** Jamien Sherwood and Smoke Monday aren't playing like freshmen.
