Gilbert named SEC Golfer of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After an 8-under, third place showing at The Williams Cup, Auburn men’s golf sophomore Josiah Gilbert was named Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Gilbert shot 68-71-69 for an impressive 208 (-8), which clinched his second top three outing within the last month. He beat the nearest golfer from the SEC by two shots. Gilbert also led Auburn to a third-place team finish in which they beat the nearest SEC squad, No. 9 Florida, by 13.
Gilbert and the Tigers return to action early next week, Oct. 28-30, at the prestigious East Lake Cup in Atlanta.
