We beat Louisville and Jax State in the first two games (where JJ threw 5 INTs and the O was not good) and then we got gobsmacked at Baton Rogue.
Sean White became the stater and the offense eventually became mediocre. Or a tad less than mediocre.
It was the right move given the roster but always thought Gus made the move a lot quicker than I thought he would make it. We were 2-1 and JJ was on preseason Heisman watch lists. But was apparent to all that he was not making good decisions in those first three games. Sean was not great but he was not a net negative on the team - JJ was.
Right now, PT might be a net negative on the team. If so, then maybe Hank or Walker or even Sam could be this year’s Sean White and we can be mediocre again. It has been bad the last 5 games vs FBS teams.
