I stopped in our "better" ABC store in the Eastchase Shopping Center last night to peruse the Bourbon section. The guy on duty recommended a bourbon from a Diageo project called Orphan Barrels. Bought the two selections they had: Barterhouse 20YO and Forged Oak 15YO. Tried side by side and while the Forged Oak was fairly good, the Barterhouse was IMO outstanding. Smooth and flavorful with a mellow caramel-oak finish. It was $75 and the 15YO was $65.
