The flips, while concerning, I don’t believe that they are a reflection of our recruiting efforts. I believe we did a hell of a job during this cycle and have a great class to show for it.
At some point, the money is going to talk. It’s not that we are not well funded, we are. We are funded on a couple different levels. It could be better and needs to be, but you can’t fix stupid. At some amount, the payment to a unproven high school kid gets to be to much. A proven portal player would give you more value for the dollar.
Portal players are looking for the best deal in terms of money, location, or playing time. They have put in the work and have a proven resume in most cases. Florida St is trying to salvage their class and have gotten a couple of our recruits by paying up.
