I'm not posting this to start another bash Gus thread. I edited the original title tagging these losses on Gus. It was his 2020 team, but @captAUmerica21 reminded me Gus didn't coach the game. I doubt the outcome would've been much different.
I think this is a pretty fair comparison between Harsin facing PSU and Gus's last two teams against Minnesota and Northwestern. Obviously the environment at PSU was much tougher. Stats of all three games are below. Iggy's KO return TD kept the Minnesota game closer than it should've been. We only had around 60 yards rushing in both and got destroyed statistically.
Against PSU we were actually 10-17 on 3rd down and the stats overall were pretty even. We lost because of mistakes, missed opportunities and the one glaring failure - inability to pressure the PSU QB. The also scored 4 TD's in 4 red zone trips. Unacceptable. Close game and something we should be able to build on. I'm more concerned with defense than offense.
