As much as I typically say we struggle against teams with size, especially a strong defensive post presence, I think we match up decently well here.

I am not expecting a big game from Broome. He struggles when facing a physical defender with more length than him. Kalkbrenner also doesn’t foul much so I don’t think we’d be wise to just keep pounding it inside in hopes of wearing them down.

When we are on offense we need to let our guards work. Hopefully Miles stays hot and either Denver, CBM and/or Tahaad join him. Creighton is 101st in the country in opponent 3 pt %, #216 in 3PA/Gm and #175 in 3PM/Gm. Maybe that’s why we were jacking up so many 3s against Alabama State… warming up for Saturday’s game.

On defense they make their hay with efficiency in the paint but really the leading indicator on wins/losses is how well they shoot their 3s. They are streaky and against Louisville they shot 46% from 3. That said, their PG Ashworth (who hit 4 of 8) has struggled all year when he has a good defender in his face (see Denver Jones). They are an elite defensive rebounding team but one of the worst offensive rebounding teams. So if we can throw their offense off rhythm with Denver crowding their PG, reject the ball getting inside, and force some tough 3s, than we should hold them in the low 70s.

This is going to be a tough game that will require max effort and no shenanigans from CBM, but there is a reason we are 9-10 pt favorites, too.
