BO NIX
** Had a great week of prep. Will play relaxed and confident. NW has great defense, really physical, get in right spots.
** Been a whirlwind last few weeks. Have done a good job of hanging in there as a football team. Wanted to make sure guys stayed positive and that whatever happened would be best for us.
** Coach Harsin has let the team know that he's going to do his best to get coaches in here that are great for us and get things rolling in 2021. He's around and talks with us.
** Need to make explosive plays on offense. Not too much of a difference on offense with Chad Morris, but a few things might have changed. Doing same scheme, running same plays.
** On younger guys? Young WRs getting a lot of quality reps. Doing great job and continuing to learn. Growing as receivers.
** Says there's not a lot of rust with three weeks off. Been very crisp since they've come back. Pleased with effort. Energized after the three weeks off.
** Bowl game is at forefront, want to win this game and then worry about next year and new staff.
** Bowl games can be great for offseason. Will be huge for player's confidence to play well and win. Coaches have done a good job of keeping us focused. Everybody knows the importance of it.
BIG KAT BRYANT
** Really been focused on us, getting back into playing shape. Making sure everybody is focused and locked in.
** A lot of these guys haven't been through a head coaching change. Been trying to be a leader and keep guys positive and motivated. Been a real good learning experience.
** Ladarius Tennison may be starting. Young guys may have to play a big role. We've been building their confidence.
** Big motivation going into this game for Big Kat knowing this could be his last game.
** A lot of the freshmen haven't had a normal freshman year. Been really stressful. Have had guys out with COVID.
** Need to stop the run first. NW is a big running team. Need to get them in 2nd and long and 3rd and long. Haven't seen the athletic ability that we have up front.
** NW is well coached. Have more experience up front. Have a pretty good QB that can run. Feel like we have a pretty good plan for them.
KEVIN STEELE
** Zakoby McClain is outstanding young man, comes to work everyday. Infectious personality, brings a lot of energy. Very productive.
** Been a work in progress on the DL with some talented young players. Have grown all year. All are talented.
** Players have been flexible and adjusted all year long to all kinds of change. This experience will pay dividends for them the rest of their lives. They're finishers, they're fighters and they're true Auburn men.
** On why he didn't elevate an assistant? Had a short week, better to keep it the way we've kept it all year.
** Anthony Schwartz has opted out. Have some other that are out, injured or in COVID protocol that may or may not be cleared. Have a pro mentality and want to keep that to myself for now.
** Doesn't have exact COVID numbers.
** Ladarius played really good, like a starter against TAMU. Will start in bowl game. Good player.
** A little banged up in secondary. Sherwood is a little bit of a question with an ankle injury but there's a chance he can play.
** Brandon Fisher is moving onto the active coaching roster for bowl game. He helped run the scout team.
** NW is a little like UGA and UK schematically. Very well coached and play hard. Do not beat themselves.
** On new coaching staff: There's the personal side and your family and the players. This has to be about the players and gameday. We have to get through this game and represent Auburn well. Owe it to each other not to allow any other distractions.
** Steele has had minimal interactions with Coach Harsin. Has seen him around building and he had Zoom call with all of us. He's been around players.
CHAD MORRIS
** NW has a great program. Always a top defensive team. Well coached, gap sound. Don't do a whole lot but what they do, do it very well. Tackle aggressively. Have work cut out for us.
** My reaction to Gus Malzahn being let go was it's a tough time. You kind of go through different phases. I was there to tell him how much I appreciate him and lend an ear and lend a hand. Very indebted to Coach Malzahn and what he has done.
** Still trying to get everyone healthy on OL. Brendan Coffey did a good job against TAMU and did well in bowl practice. Has a bright future.
** Should be getting some guys back on offense, heal up some nagging injuries.
** Having different guys out of practice one day to the next is business as usual. Been that way all season.
** Bo Nix has done really good job of getting ready. Excited to finish this thing to with a bowl win.
** Eli Stove will step up and get more playing time with Schwartz leaving. Will see some young guys get on the field and play more.
** D.J. Williams is back healthy and looks much better. Has gone through all of the practices.
** NW gives some exotic looks on 3rd down.
** It has been a strange bowl experience but it's the norm for this year. Going down to Orlando the day before game. Guys have dealt with change extremely well.
** Coach Harsin has allowed us to do our job and coach players for this game. Excited to finish it out in Citrus Bowl.
** We'll see on Tank Bigsby's status for the game. Has a very bright future.
