2016 CLASS

QB Woody Barrett - West Orange (Orlando, Fla.) advanced to the state semifinals with a 41-26 win over Mandarin. Barrett accounted for six touchdowns in the game. The senior completed 11-of-17 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 148 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries.

On the season, Barrett is 99 for 186 passing (53.2%) for 1,779 yards with 19 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also has rushed for 1,375 yards and 22 touchdowns on 169 attempts.

CB John Broussard – Broussard finished his senior season with 35 tackles, including 23 solos, and one interception.

DB Marlon Character – Grady (Atlanta, Ga.) finished 8-5.

DE Nick Coe – Asheboro (N.C.) finished 10-3.

DE Marlon Davidson – Davidson had 58 tackles,19 tackles-for-loss and seven sacks. He also had three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown). Greenville finished 12-1.

QB John Franklin III – Franklin completed 64-of-110 passes (58.2 %) for 733 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 451 yards on 43 carries (10.5 avg.) and nine scores. EMCC finished 8-1.

OL Brodarious Hamm - Spalding (Griffin, Ga.) finished 9-2.

DT Tashawn Manning - Wekiva (Apopka, Fla.) finished 6-4.

DT David Marshall – Upson-Lee finished 8-3.

WR Marquis McClain - Crestview (Fla.) finished 5-5.

ATH/RB Malik Miller - In eight games as a senior, Miller rushed for 713 yards and 15 touchdowns on 106 carries (6.7 avg.). He also hauled in 10 receptions for 170 yards and a score. Madison Academy finished 11-2.

DE Daquan Newkirk - Newkirk rushed for 752 yards and 11 touchdowns on 74 carries (10.2 avg.), caught two passes for 42 yards, and recorded six tackles and a sack in limited action on defense. The First Academy finished 5-5.

TE Landon Rice - Calhoun (Ga.) advanced to the AAA state semifinals with a 33-30 win over Elbert County and Mecole Hardman. Rice was used primarily as a blocker on offense as Calhoun used a run-heavy attack. On defense, he had a big game with nine tackles, a tackle-for-loss and two quarterback hurries.

Rice now has 17 receptions for 275 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for a 30-yard score. On defense, Rice has 49 tackles and five sacks. He’s also blocked a punt on special teams.

WR Elijah Stove – Niceville’s (Fla.) season ended with a 21-20 loss to Tate. Stove had four receptions for 42 yards and returned a punt 23 yards.

Stove finished his senior season with 50 receptions for 728 yards (14.6 avg.) and nine touchdowns. He also carried the ball 20 times for 103 yards (5.2 avg.) and a score, and returned five punts for 114 yards (22.8 avg.) and a touchdown and one kickoff for 33 yards.

LB Tre Threat - Spanish Fort remained undefeated at 15-0 with a 31-27 win over Benjamin Russell. Threat had a season-high 13 tackles and two sacks in the win.

Threat on the season has 81 tackles, 45 solos, four sacks, 17 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

2017 CLASS

OT Calvin Ashley - Dr. Phillips (Orlando, Fla.) lost to Osceola, 20-19, ending its season with a 9-4 record.

DB Carlito Gonzalez - Gonzalez ended his junior season with 46 tackles, 22 solos, three forced fumbles and two pass breakups in 10 games. Stephenson (Stone Mountain, Ga.) finished with a 9-2 record.

QB Lowell Narcisse - Saint James (La.) advanced to the state championship game with a 28-14 win over Northwest. Narcisse was 11 for 21 passing for 100 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed 25 times for 104 yards and a score.

In three games this season, Narcisse is 27 for 45 passing for 298 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has had 49 carries for 289 yards and four scores.
NEXT: State title game vs. Amite on Dec. 4.

ATH/RB Alaric Williams –Williams ended his junior year with 1,008 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns on 135 carries (7.5 avg.), and also had nine receptions for 234 yards (26.0 avg.) and five scores. Southside (Gadsden Ala.) finished 5-5.
