Today (Thursday) marks the re-opening of the contact period. Coaches can visit recruits off campus. Recruits can make on-campus visits. Here's a running list of where Auburn coaches are expected to be today and Friday...
THURSDAY, Jan. 14
* Auburn LB coach Travis Williams and DB coach Wesley McGriff are scheduled to make an in-home visit with Grady (Atlanta, Ga.) safety Marlon Character. The DB commit will visit South Carolina this weekend, Virginia Tech next weekend and Auburn the final weekend of the month.
* Auburn OL coach Herb Hand is scheduled to visit with John Curtis four-star OT Willie Allen. The big tackle has already visited TCU and will visit in-state LSU this weekend. Allen is scheduled to visit Auburn next weekend, Jan. 22-24.
* Auburn RB coach Tim Horton met with 2017 RB Devan Barrett, as well as with WR Nate Craig-Myers and DB Jayvaughn Myers. Barrett is one of Auburn's top RB targets in '17 and received an offer from the Tigers last week.
* Auburn WR coach/co-offensive coordinator Dameyune Craig will make an in-home visit with both Craig-Myers and Myers tonight. The half-brothers are expected to arrive in Auburn tomorrow for their official visits.
* Auburn TE coach Scott Fountain is visiting with Woody Barrett. The QB commit from Winter Garden, Fla. will be in Auburn tomorrow for an official visit.
* Fountain also is scheduled to meet with Dr. Phillips five-star OT Calvin Ashley while in Orlando. Ashley is Auburn's top commitment in the 2017 class.
* Auburn DL coach Rodney Garner is scheduled to make an in-home visit with four-star DT Derrick Brown. The Tigers' top DT target will be in Auburn tomorrow for an official visit. He'll travel to Georgia next weekend and Tennessee the final weekend of the month.
* Auburn DC Kevin Steele will attend Gordo's basketball game at Sipsey Valley. Five-star LB Ben Davis will be dressed out for Gordo.
FRIDAY, Jan. 15
* Hand is scheduled to meet with Cocoa (Fla.) OT Jawaan Taylor. The Florida commit continues to receive strong interest from Auburn. The Tigers hope to lock down an official visit.
* Steele, Garner and Williams all are scheduled to meet with another of Florida's commits - four-star defensive end Antonneous Clayton. Auburn once led for Clayton before he committed to the Gators. The Tigers, like with Taylor, are working to get an official visit from Clayton.
* Fountain (and possibly Craig) is scheduled to visit with Wellington, Fla. four-star WR Ahmmon Richards. Miami, where he was previously committed, will play host to Richards this weekend on an official visit. Richards visited Auburn for the Iron Bowl and will visit Alabama (Jan. 22-24) and Tennessee (Jan. 29-31) before making a decision on Signing Day (Feb. 3).
