I'm sitting here at my mother's cabin looking out over the pond and a big bald eagle is sitting in one of the cypress trees. I can't help but think of how much my Dad would have loved the beauty and serenity of this place. All the great memories of Christmas come back and I can't help but think of some of the bad memories as well. My daughter's first seizure was on Christmas morning in 2004. That was a really bad day. And there was the time that my Dad caught my brother with a girl he had snuck into the house one Christmas Eve. Another bad day, but my brother got a lot of style points for creativity. All those good and bad times made us all what we are today. Enjoy the memories of your past, both good and bad because one day, the people who made those memories won't be with you.
