We're set to talk to Bruce Pearl as he previews Georgia State
- Pearl opens up by remembering Chette Williams: "Just a tragic loss for the Auburn family... he was the fellowship for Christian athletes. People came from all over the country to learn from Brother Chette. He was an icon... my heart goes out to his family."
- There are tickets available with students being gone for break
- "Georgia State is a talented team, well coached team, they play really hard."
- Pearl said that they're similar to an SEC team in terms of play style
- "Our front line will be challenged along the lines of say Memphis or Iowa State."
- "It's a very experienced roster."
- Mentioned that it's a Sun Belt team, which is what App. State was/is
- Auburn is 9-1 despite the schedule: "We honestly just take it one game at a time... we're not reflecting where we are right now. We're working on areas where we need to get better. To have played the caliber of schedule we've played and to be where we are is everything I could have hoped for."
- Pearl said they're pleased with where they're at but still have a lot of tough games on the schedule so they're not satisfied
- "Our big guys know that this front line will be a challenge."
- Pearl said that Dylan Cardwell had a decision to make with Johni Broome coming back early. He said that Dylan might have gone elsewhere for his final year if they hadn't found a way to play him and Johni together. (I'll post the transcript to this in the replies later because I couldn't perfectly summarize this part)
- Pearl on the Georgia State back court: "We looked at all of them at different times."
- On not fouling a ton recently: "We've really focused on trying to play as aggressively before shots are taken, but once shots are taken - working hard to not foul."
- Pearl said that Miles Kelly has a "little bang" on his hand and that he'll be fine.
