Bruce Pearl talked to us before Auburn’s pro day:

- Chance and Pearl are rehabbing together. “It’s been a sweet time” to go through that with him.
- Timetable for Westry is 3-4 weeks.
- Al is back
- Talking about pro day: said he’d expected 28 pro teams at his pro day in his “wildest dreams.”
- Zep is out today, just a little stomach virus… nothing serious.
- How valuable are pro days: “they’re valuable days, but they’re not vital for the kids.” Says that no one is going to play their way into the league with this day alone. Noted that Walker Kessler didn’t participate last year.
- Who has stood out: “Wendell’s been consistent… I like when one of your hardest workers is standing out.”
- “K.D.’s effort has been consistent.”
- “We’re ready to play someone else.”
- Says they won’t really know what they’re like until they play someone else.
- Says that UAB would finish 7th-8th in the SEC this year. Hyping up opponents.
- On starting competitions: Jaylin and Yohan are head to head as are Dylan and Johni
- Bruce Pearl noted that he’s recruiting more top players now than he ever has and most are saying no. Said he’s never been told so much and it’s wearing him out (jokingly).
- Said he’s lost some kids because he wouldn’t promise them anything and tell them “what they want to hear.”
- Talking about the importance of NIL and drops “we’re an everything school.”
- On the practice facility: “We need it.” Says that he wants it done right, though.
- C Mo: “He had a great summer. There’s been some carryover… at the end of the summer, Chris was right there for a chance at a starting position.”
- Pearl ends with saying that he knows who 2 out of the 5 starters will be. Speculate below.

That’s all for BP.
