Auburn coach Bruce Pearl is meeting with the media Friday morning before leaving for Lexington to take on No. 17 Kentucky. Here's a summary. Click refresh, will continue to update...

** Dylan Cardwell becomes the all-time winningest player in Auburn history with a win at Kentucky. Pearl said he couldn't be happier for Cardwell.

** Tough task these next two games. When you get down to the end of the season and you're competing for a championship, you look ahead more and see what you have to do. Ole Miss may have been the easiest of the four remaining. We got it, but what's next.

** UK averages 91 points at home. How much less can we hold them to and have a chance to win? They shoot well at home and get a lot of assists. They have great players. Williams is a great center and will be a great matchup for Broome/Cardwell. UK has great depth and Mark Pope runs the most sophisticated 5-out offense in the country.

** It helps having a veteran team on the road. He mentions AU being almost as old as the Oklahoma City NBA team. There are actually 5-6 teams in SEC older than Auburn acc'd to Pearl.

** Auburn hasn't won at Rupp since 1988 (hello, John Caylor). Pearl said it's mainly due to UK usually being the best team in the SEC and Auburn traditionally not being very good. AU hasn't lost on the road in the SEC yet.

** Pearl told his team they had to beat Ole Miss if they want to win a championship. He would rather have them know what's on the line going into a big game and that includes Kentucky.

** Denver Jones' defense has had a trickle-down affect. It's influenced other players likes Miles Kelly, who Pearl said has improved tremendously. Pearl said the NBA is looking at Kelly much closer now. Kelly is still shooting at a good percentage while turning up his defense.

** On Tahaad Pettiford's 15 assists and 4 turnovers in last two games despite not shooting well: He's grown tremendously. Can make big shots. He has a better understanding of the offense now and can get guys the ball.

** Johni Broome has played with great effort and energy and is more productive on both ends of the floor, which is a sign is more healthy. When he plays like this, it takes Auburn to a new level.

** Lamont Butler is a great defensive player. It's night and day when he's healthy.

*****THAT'S ALL*****
