So Auburn’s search for a new athletic director is approaching the end, but we’re not there yet.
President Roberts has met with a handful of candidates. A few (as many as three yet probably two) are expected to visit campus either this weekend or early next week to meet (or re-acquaint with) some of the most important figures. That is the plan. After that, a decision will be made and someone will receive a job offer.
So in this scenario, I expect a decision to be made late next week.
I know John Hartwell from Utah State is in this thing. He looks like a fine candidate.
I know Eddie Nuñez from New Mexico is in this thing. He looks like a fine candidate.
I’m just not sure about a third “finalist” … it could be David Benedict, it could be Jared Benko, it could be some person whose identity we currently don’t know. Or it could be just the two.
