Our guys bullshitted around with Alabama State. You'd love for your team to always be business-like in their approach, but this group just isn't that. You look at CBM, Broome, Jahki, etc and the bottom line is we just have some outlaws. When they're focused and motivated, they're great. Alabama State clearly didn't move the needle for us. Chaney was better, but ASU is more in his atmosphere talent-wise. He's at his best when he drives the ball and shoots a few ft line jumpers. Lately, he's been a three point shooter and post up guy, where he's not effective. Hopefully Miles continues to shoot it well.
Creighton played great Thursday. They're going to funnel us at Kalkbrenner and see if we can score over him. If Johni is off today, we could lose this game. Similarly, we're going to try to take away the three point shot, which is our defensive strength, and force their big to beat us. I think we see an old school big man duel, which is honestly probably a push. I believe our other guys are better, while their discipline is probably better. We're deeper and we have more weapons so I think we win, but I think it's another struggle.
For those still panicking, this is March Madness. Win by 1 or win by 40, it's still survive and advance. I don't like this matchup, or Michigan/Aggie in next round, but if we can just get to Atlanta I feel like we'll be able to work through this little funk. At some point things will click and it will all open back up again. Just gotta get through today. War Eagle.
