When bammer lost their best 3-point shooter, (Lattrell Wrightsell), to a season ending injury, they would have been done if Oatsy-boy hadn't been able to get one of our ex-players. Their system just doesn't work without good 3-point shooting, and Aden led their team in 3-point shooting at 42%.

They were initially using him in a Miles Kelly sniper role, and as a primary ball-handler to bring the ball up court against pressure, and he excelled in those roles, but when they went through that weird stretch where Mark Sears was struggling and Oats benched him for a couple of halves, they started using Aden as a play-making PG too.

He got back to shooting like he'd always shot the ball his entire life, and had a good year for them. He also got a lot better at finishing at the rim with some crazy finishes, (though he certainly isn't elite just yet). His overall FG% for 2's was one of the highest among guards in the league at close to 48%. Oats might be agitating in several ways, but he always seems to get the right pieces to fill key voids and build their roster. How does he get so many top players, (McDonald's All-Americans to play for him)??? They're still nipping at our heels, but they closed some of the gap quicker than I thought they would.
