Assuming he has not, will the lame duck President fire Harsin if he does not get the shot? Has to be done by December 8th for all University employees.

I am sure Ivey will step in and allow Alabama to join the growing list of states no abiding by it. Our union has well over 5k people not taking the mandate so it will be interesting.

He has natural immunity. I would tell them to pound sand.

Maybe he meant "hug" like he will hug a mf before he has to take a shot. Maybe that's how he deals with needles? Lots of people are scared of needles. I used to have to hold my daughter's hands when they were 5 getting shots...I get it.

nope, i’ve seen it first hand, they’ll whine to high heaven but when it comes to nut cutting time, they’ll get in line and get the shot.
Huh… So bc you’ve seen it at your work? You think all people feel that way??

Just like the Washington state coach did?

No, you wouldn’t. You would get the shot and keep your $5 million per year job

Come on Stump it just $5 million a year. Vaccine was not a condition of his employment. Not in his contract. Sure it could be litigated. Also the Administration still has not issued / promulgated the administrative law. Federal government does not have the authority, but states probably do have the authority.

If AU is technically a federal contractor, they have the authority.

There are no rules in effect. Companies are reacting to possible regulations coming from OSHA, which if issued, will be challenged, and litigated all the way to the Supreme Court on an expedited basis.

The details of Biden’s emergency regulation, which will come from the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration and applies to private employers with 100 or more workers, haven’t been developed yet.

Meanwhile, private companies with more than 100 employees will be subject to a forthcoming rule from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration requiring all employees to be vaccinated or get tested weekly. Biden announced the regulation weeks ago, but the agency is still drafting the particulars.

No. He has a contract and is entitle to $5 million a year. Mandate would not hold up in court.
Refusal to abide by University Rules, which this would be considered, is a termination for cause event under his contract, I am 99% certain.

This has nothing to do with any of that. This is about mandating federal contractors be vaccinated.

Stump. There are no official rules / regulation yet. There is reason that rules are not in place. Because the Biden Administration knows that they will probably "not meet constitutional muster" just like Biden said about the CDC issue rules about rental evictions, and will be overturned in the courts. There strategy is threaten and forcibly coerce companies / citizens into compliance. That is one of the reason Biden approval rating is below 40%. People are tired of being dictated to, especially since it is unconstitutional.

UTk is not even clear on what is required / not required. See below. I know you like to argue, but I am out.

what I see is there aren’t many places left to hide. All universities get federal money, ie, there’s no other places for academics to go. Likewise with other employers. Like it or not, the vaccine mandate has proven extremely effective across the workplace. There is lots of folks not completely on board, but most of us need that next paycheck.
