Since moving back to AU, I have been disappointed with the lack of liquor stores. Now visiting family in the Millbrook/Prattville area and it's horrid. In AU, the two notable non-ABC stores are crazy over priced. Lagavulin 16 for $129? Oban 14 for $120? Sheee-it. ABC stores have anywhere from fair to terrible scotch and Irish selection.
Moved from NW Arkansas and we can all joke, but damn, they have some good liquor stores up there. Great selections and premium bottles. I don't know how ABC stores are structured, but they seem to have the market nice and tied up in AL.
