The BYU “fool’s gold” 25 threes and 113 points were just that.

At the Elite 8 level, it’s mainly about DEE-FENSE and offensive efficiency. Quality shots and take what they give you.

Duke attempted a paltry 13 threes, draining only 6 (46%). SIX. Some would read that data point without context and figure on a Bama upset of Dook.

Oats’ boys hurled up 32 desperation 3’s, as Oats’ “system” teaches, and drained only 8 3s (25%).

Result? A 20-point Dook win, holding bammer massively under its scoring average, to an anemic 65.

Which gives me as good vibes
to what Bruce has built, a defense first system, letting offense come to you out of stops.

Izzo is very similar. So we will have a 40-minute war, and I think the comfort of “Neville East” will put AU into the Final Four.

Look for Miles Kelly to be one of the big scoring keys, as film will tease Sparty to overcommit to guarding Haad and Denver at the 3-line. Miles is past due as our season-long best shooter.
