1. Broome’s 21 point, 20 rebound game today is the first 20-20 double double game for an auburn player since………1989… or 35 years ago.
We were really bad in 1988-89 and 1989-90 so I can’t instantly remember who did that….I’ve done all I can to forget both years….but I do know I was 35 years younger then!
2. The Alabama vs Mississippi All-Star game was fun to watch….very evenly matched & competitive game (a lot of them have not been).
Both QBs (Knight & Lacey) played well; Lacey looked better than I’ve ever seen him look. I finally see what UT and others have seen in him.
Knight was spectacular at time but played behind a below par offensive line in an offensive system I hate…too many passes behind the line if scrimmage or less than 5-6 yards down field….one of those “quick” passing scheme offensive systems.
Knight looks good in a football uniform….looks every bit of 6’5” and may be taller. His ball is live and “HOT”….every pass he threw was a fastball….didn’t see any change-ups or touch passes.
Not “quick” when he pulls it down to run and is still increasing his stride the first 5-6 yards….but once he hits his stride….he is Secretariat, really impressive for someone his size.
