The World Whiskies Awards recently named its overall winner, and it is:
Old Fitzgerald 2024 VVS - a 13-year bottled-in-bond bourbon that was also named Best Kentucky Bourbon.
Has anyone tried this and can confirm its deliciousness? Is it worth me going to the Heaven Hill Distillery at 5am to try and score a bottle?
Since moving to Kentucky last summer, I’ve done a number of distillery tours, and the majority of tour guides say something like this: The best bourbon is the one you like and a drink made the way you like it. Don’t let anyone shame you about mixing it with coke or muddled mint or whatever else you prefer.
That said, I am intrigued by a bourbon that’s won such an award.
Anywho. It’s Old Fitz worth it or nah?
