Unless You’re Team Can Recruit Great OL

I don’t understand why any college HC would recruit a pro style QB instead of a quick escape artist style DT QB.

Time after time the quicker QBs escape from sacks and extend plays and keep drives going.

And I’m not just talking about a faster runner, I’m talking about a QB that is so quick they are hard to stop or tackle.

The kid from TAM is a perfect example.

The minute I see Auburn is interested in a stand in the pocket type QB I immediately think whether we have the OL to protect him and that answer is usually no.

The other side of that situation is why a team that can’t handle a rush doesn’t throw several more quick hitters to make the defense think twice before they rush?

I don’t pretend to be a football schematics guru but isn’t this football 101 ?

We were rushed often last night and seemed to have no answer.

I don’t get it.

Appreciation post for Eugene Asante

You’re an absolute warrior.

When we look back and think about this tough stretch Auburn football went through, Eugene Asante will be one of the guys I remember as a bright spot. It hasn’t been an easy road for him on and off the field but he’s been nothing but a positive force for us. Beast and a leader. Happy to send him out of JHS like that.
