Other than having to play 4 OTs, we couldn't have asked for a better Saturday leading into next weekend's game. On paper, we should not win, but it feels to me like we will see one of two teams on the other side in 6 days.
DeBoner's crew will be pissed and clinging to the slimmer than slim hope of still getting into the playoffs. Focused and on the same page, they will play up to their abilities and beat us by 14+.
Or, they sulk and point fingers at each other, their DC continues his sprint towards the unemployment line, and we have a real chance to pull the upset. Alabama has played poorly on the road, with all 3 losses coming away from their 100k seat trailer park, but people forget how poorly they played at home against USF and USCe. Even if they play down, we will certainly have our chances.
I can't say I'm ready to call the W, but the plate is set. We will need some breaks to go our way, but we will be confident and focused. Hard to take 100k rednecks out of the game, but they are spoiled rotten frontrunners, so the opportunity to quiet them down and take the place over is right in front of us.
My gut tells me we will be playing the most mentally fragile Alabama team since Mike Shula roamed the sidelines...
