** No. 7 seed Auburn plays No. 11 seed Texas A&M at approximately 4:30 p.m. CT with the winner going on to play in Saturday's semifinal at noon. The loser will play an elimination game on Friday at 3 p.m. against the winner of today's elimination game between No. 2 seed Ole Miss and No. 3 seed Georgia. The Rebels lead 2-0 in T7, but the game is currently in a rain dealy. Here's an updated BRACKET.

** Auburn will start junior right-hander Casey Mize (9-4, 2.94) today and TAMU sophomore LHP John Doxakis (6-5, 3.04). Andrew Mitchell will start Auburn's next game so there's a chance for Mize to get AU into the semis and Mitchell to get AU into the finals. Who would start if Auburn makes in to Sunday's championship game?

Depends on a lot of factors including who is needed out of the bullpen the next two or three games. Jack Owen threw just 43 pitches in Tuesday's start so you figure he's available Sunday, or perhaps Saturday, for at least a few innings. Davis Daniel threw 82 pitches Tuesday. I expect he'd be available this weekend, but only for a short outing. Cody Greenhill threw 36 pitches Tuesday. He'll definitely be available to pitch a couple of more times during the tournament, perhaps today.

Tanner Burns threw 105 pitches Wednesday and I don't expect to see him until the NCAA Regionals. Calvin Coker threw 32 pitches Wednesday and should be available a couple of more times over the next several days in Hoover. Auburn also hasn't used Corey Herndon, Elliott Anderson or Welby Malczewski yet so they could pick up some innings over the next several days.

** Butch Thompson felt Auburn could make a good case to host an NCAA Regional going into the SEC Tournament and wins over Kentucky and Ole Miss only strengthen his case. Auburn remains No. 12 in the NCAA RPI today. The top four SEC RPI teams -- No. 1 Florida, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Arkansas and No. 9 Ole Miss -- are all considered locks to host. Auburn has the fifth-best RPI in the league and of particular note today, Texas A&M is sixth at No. 17.

** With Wednesday's 9-3 win over Ole Miss, Auburn has started 2-0 in the SEC Tournament for the first time since 1999. According to AU's SEC Tourney records, which go back to 1978, Auburn has never started 3-0. Auburn has won SEC Tournament championships in 1978, 1989 and 1998. In 98, Auburn won the first two games, lost to Alabama, and then came back to beat Alabama twice to win the title.
