What makes a successful American Human?

Maybe we can not argue here.. yeah right!


for me:

-happiness, first and foremost. If you aren't happy, what the hell else matters.

-provide for yourself and, potentially, your family

-contribution. Do something. Have a skill or trade. TEACH others things you learn. (this may also include charitable contributions, volunteering, etc)





These are a start for me. This is something I've been thinking about a lot as I'm thinking of transitioning careers.


What does the porefo have to say about this? I truly am interested to know what some of you old timers think I would need to do to call myself successful at the end of it all. I think one of the primary differences in your generation and me (maybe mine) is that we care more about happiness than the bottom line and dollars made.

Eagle mentions working 3 jobs. I had a job from age 12-19, but when I got scholarships, my parents encouraged me not to work. Post high school, I was told I had to go to school and there weren't really other options.
