I have started smoking a turkey each year for Thanksgiving and really love them more than their oven counterparts. I have never brined one before though. Anyone have a good brine recipe or process to prevent the turkey from getting salty?
Edit: For anyone new to the thread I am adding this part here as an edit but will also put it in a comment. What smoke are you using? I have always been a apple guy but this year I plan to mix apple, cherry, pecan and some hickory into the smoke to see what it does. Having a pellet smoker makes that a lot easier to do. I also plan to go heavier on apple than the other three.
