Today was awful and will exact a heavy withdrawal from the High Freeze Goodwill/Relational Capital accounts. It can only happen once in a tenure. The next time will be the last time.
What happened? IMO? Yes, Bad Players and Bad Coaching, but going deeper…
- Our talent levels are such that if they don’t play at high intensity, it’s going to be tough. We don’t have the dudes to decide to just line up and say “screw you, I’m about to whip your ass”. We have to have everyone bought in and busting ass. Tonight was the OPPOSITE of that.
-We will crush this recruiting class and ‘25. However, Hugh has two other problems he’s got to fix ASAP or talent won’t matter. (And if for whatever reason Hugh doesn’t crush this recruiting class, his ass will be on the hot seat).
- speaking of the class, ESD is a month away….these coaches are more focused on that and portal evals and recruiting than on field. It damn sure showed at that abortion of a game, but it is what it is.
- speaking of coaching staffs….ours has some issues. Look at Crime Dog‘s situation. Hugh’s got to deal with that and a few other situations. Because that stuff shows up in days like today.
- Lastly, and IMO, the most important thing Hugh’s got to do is realize this ain’t Ole Phuking Miss. people actually pay attention to what you say…including, big shocker here, your players! When you pronounce the season a success after last week’s win and drone on and on about it, the players listen! They buy into the season being done, it was a success, going bowling, etc. It’s kind of like bitching about going out to California and playing late and it could effect the team’s play, or how we had no shot against UGA, and it was a self-fulfilling prophecy on all parts. Shut the Hell Up with that kind of Craziness and get to coaching.
At the end of the day, yes, there were reasons for this debacle, yet, it’s still completely unacceptable...unless you flip McCray, the WRs, etc., etc., then we’ll forgive.
