Hugh Freeze and Mike Locksley are meeting with the media right now. Here are some notes of interest:
*** Both coaches have been handed guitars from the Music City Bowl rep. If you were wondering, Freeze does not know how to play the guitar.
*** All but one Auburn player's fever has broke. Some of the players missed practice earlier this week due to the flu. Payton Thorne had it last week.
*** Locksley's daughter is an Auburn student and Auburn fan, to which the Maryland coach said she didn't get many Christmas presents this year.
*** "Next man up" is Locksley's motto when it comes to Tagovailoa sitting out of the game. Excited about what Billy Edwards and Cam Edge can do at quarterback.
*** The two coaches have history together with Nick Saban connecting the two while Locksley was at Alabama and Freeze was unemployed.
*** Freeze said he wasn't sure if he should go after Sam Jackson due to him being a two-time transfer, but the court's ruling changed his mind. "It's a risk, probably, but I think he's one heck of an athlete."
*** The Terps will be using the new helmets with communication inside while Auburn won't. Freeze said he is looking forward to hearing how Locksley feels about them.
