I remain fascinated by this specific game.

Maybe it's because it happened during a formative period of my childhood. Maybe it was also because I could see, for the first time, what my Dad saw in Alabama. And what my grandfather saw in them. Up until Black Saturday, I openly wondered why my family was so afraid of Alabama. It was literal paranoia.

But then I saw it. For the very first time, I understood.

What were your experiences that day? Were you at the game?

I understand a large portion of our game plan was similar to the week prior: Cadillac got 42 carries against THUGA, and we were going to ride him here. After Cadillac went down, it still looked like we were going to be able to run downhill with H2 Brown (I believe he scored the only TD for Auburn). But things simply dried up.

Why? Who is to blame for Black Saturday?

Also, obligatory paging of @Will Collier and @Jay G. Tate because they're both historians on the matter. Was there any behind the scenes drama going on that acted as a distraction?
