So I thought I’d bring some perspective to the board tonight since I’ve heard a lot lately about how our current staff is not as good a recruiting staff as our previous staffs under Gus. This in fact is largely false, and I’ll use facts to back that up. As of May 6th 2013 Gus had 3 commits in the 2014 recruiting class, those recruits were as follows:
TE Chris Laye 5.5 ***
LB DeShaun Davis 5.5 ***
FB Kamryn Pettway 5.7 ***
This is with the added benefit of having Junior days, unofficial visits, and a full series of spring evaluation days. Now that said, Gus went on to land 5 Star LB Tre Williams later in May along with 4 Star Justin Thornton, 4 Star S Derrick Moncrief and 3 Star TE Jakell Mitchell.
Once June hits and OVs and unofficial begin, I expect a similar run for CBH. My point is things change quickly in recruiting so stay patient Bunk, good things will happen.
