I've had a thought rattling around in my head the past few weeks about how we will deploy our WRs against UL.
Playing in a dome places an emphasis on speed, and of our top 3-4 WRs, two are not known for speed (Duke and Melvin). Duke is so good it really doesn't matter, but as we'll primarily be running with three WR sets - if we use both Duke and Melvin that leaves us with only one fast WR on the field (Rico or Marcus), which would seem to be less than ideal, given the variables.
This makes me curious if we'll look to other guys in the opener, in order to get more speed on the field. Whether it be Tony Stevens, Jason Smith, Stanton Truitt, or Myron Burton I don't know, but I am interested to see how Gus, Rhett and CDC manage the WR rotation and if they do, in fact, go speed heavy to take advantage of the turf.
Thoughts?
