We’ve had a frustrating season and have handed a few games away but today is on a different level.
There’s plenty of blame to go around but it begins and ends with the head coach and offensive coaching staff. They should be embarrassed (actually embarrassed isn’t strong enough) by the product they put on the field today.
The formula was demonstrated last week for this team to win. Today, Hunter gains 15 yards on the first play of the game and the 35 on only 11 more touches.
Our staff has to know that our OLine can’t pass pro so how do we plan for that, slow developing long passes of course. We should have run that little swing to Simmons 20 times today or at least until it didn’t gain 8 yards.
When we do get the right play called, we throw a pass 7ft over a wide open receivers head.
Football rarely frustrates me any more and I’ll move on this afternoon and enjoy the rest of my weekend but today’s coaching effort and decision making was a joke. All the way to the end. Why on God’s green earth do you call a TO with 2:01 on the clock when the clock will stop in 0:01 seconds anyway?
Hugh Freeze is our coach. I absolutely want him to be successful. Paying more people millions of dollars not to coach here is a horrible plan. He will not be fired this year but this is on him and he better figure it out before we kick it off next year.
