Elite football mind. Auburn football insider.
It is entirely a bunch of insider baseball nonsense. One thing I agree with AOC on - impeachment is boring. Nobody cares. Only the inside the beltway political class cares. Republicans want impeachment to happen because it raises campaign funds and there is a 0% chance Trump is removed from office. Democrats want impeachment so they can grandstand and say “I told you so”. However, outside of 495 in DC, no one cares. Not only does polling show that public opinion on impeachment hasn’t moved, it also shows that it’s not an important issue to voters, not in the democratic primary or on the Republican side. Voters are constantly asking thing like - Why aren’t there any middle class jobs anymore in this rural midwestern town? Why do I make $50k per year but have to pay $20k in health insurance premiums? Why does the media want me to get outraged over what gender an androgynous appearing student at a 60k per year private college feels like today? Impeachment is irrelevant to any of this. Trump won the White House on three issues - immigration, cultural conservatism (mainly antiabortion), and economic populism. Not tax cuts or traditional Republican talking points. He ran to the left on economics and to the right on culture. He promised to drain the swamp. But now he is the swamp. Now he got bamboozled into getting mixed up in insider baseball about Joe Biden’s son and Ukraine or whatever. No one cares. If he wants to get re-elected, he’s got to do what he did before. And Democrats need to beat him to that space. But they won’t.
