I was reading the Gospel of Thomas and it occurred to me that it’s the only major sport that resembles actual warfare. It’s basically war without death, which is probably the zenith of human achievement.
Why football is the greatest:
1. Games matter. None of this “lose to UF by 60 field goals and still have a chance to make the World Series” nonsense.
2. It’s not team vs team. It’s not even org vs org. It’s literally nation vs nation, each program comprised of like 300 people, plus the bagmen, plus the royalty (like Bo), plus the entire gd apparatus that makes it all go. Plus the fans, and the alumni. It’s just epic. It’s bigger than life.
3. This board should charge $49.99 month during football season. The content is that good.
