I was willing to accept the narrative that Thorne would be better once he gets better players around him and I still think that is absolutely true. I found the narrative had a little merit based on the fact of the talent on the team and how Thorne did improve some the back half of the season.
However, even if he does improve with more talent around him, the fact is he has a limited ceiling and his improvement won’t be enough imo. We are an 8 win team at most with Thorne next year IMO. Yesterday was bad for everyone so it’s not all on Thorne but the fact remains he’s not a game changer. He’s an above average QB when the pieces around him are good but he does lift the team with his play.
