Had someone pose this question today with the argument that people that went through slavery suffered the same way and therefore it doesn't make sense to refer to holocaust survivors as "survivors" but instead to refer to both as survivors (I'm guessing in a theoretical situation where freed slaves are still alive?), also argued that those who went through ethnic cleansing suffered the same way.
