I was fortunate enough to have several fun gigs before I went to law school and started practicing.
I was the 'assembler' at Wal Marks. Technically I was a stockman, but I had a little area in the loft set aside for me and all I'd do each day would be to assemble bicycles, lawnmowers, floor model furniture, etc. I had a TV so I'd just make sure it took my whole day to finish my list bc if I got done early I had to go do real work. On the weekends when they'd have sidewalk sales, I was security. They paid me to sit outside with the stock that they just left in the parking lot. Several friends would always come. Fun times.
I was a bartender at Chili's when the Braves first surged back into prominence in the early 1990s. Every one of my regulars had their own tomahawk, and we did nickle beer nights and ten cent wings or maybe it was the other way around. Regardless, never seemed like work to me.
