Was discussing this with a hardcore Florida Gators fan the other day. He said Florida fans don't feel good about their program unless they're scoring lots of points, even if they win.
On the other hand, as an Auburn fan, I like defense, field position, the kicking game, etc. That's the kind of football I mainly grew up watching Auburn play during the Tubs years.
The best game I've ever seen in person was the 2004 Auburn - LSU game. It was a game where both offenses actually played pretty well, but both defenses were completely dominant throughout. I remember watching that game in the stands with my Dad knowing I was watching what was probably the greatest defensive struggle in the history of the stadium. And what's weird is that the game felt like it just flew by. It seriously felt like the entire game lasted only an hour of real time. Auburn won that game 10-9 with a late drive and, of course, the two legendary throws from Campbell to Taylor.
I just love that score. 10-9. That's an Auburn football score.
What is your favorite kind of football to watch?
