Why did his tenure fall apart so rapidly and such a dramatic fashion? I’m aware of some of the basics, split locker room between those loyal to Trooper Taylor and others to Chizik, Loeffler being horrible at his job, a lack of oversight and control of the team, but is that really all there was to it?
Everything about Chizik’s early tenure would suggest he was building Auburn for success, killing it in crootin’, innovative and effective staff hires with guys like Gus and Looper, and great charisma, at least whenever he stepped up to a podium.
