Normally care 0% about anything other than getting out injury free, but I actually think there are a few things we can fix that would show up even vs a much lesser squad. I expect we'll be uber vanilla, so nothing in terms of play calling should be expected. But we can clean some stuff up.
- JJ not throwing into coverage and mostly checking the ball down when the primary is not there. Just seeing him take the easy pass or even throw it out of bounds will tell me that we drilled it into him this week and he took the coaching. If he can't check down in this game or take off and get 5 easy yards it's a really, really bad sign IMO.
- Fix the jet motion stuff and get it fixed now. Looked like a one legged mutt trying to hump a horse. It's a staple of what we do. Figure it out. There is no reason for guys to nearly hit the ball upon the snap or have to basically stop. I figured the defense is actually laughing at us the way we ran it in game 1. Also, if you are going to have Marcus Davis do the jet motion you have to hand it to him some. Get it on tape for people so they have to have an ounce of respect for it. It's the worst fake I've seen and we've done it for years now. We always have 1 guy in the rotation who does that motion but never gets a carry. Offensive QC, where are you?
