The 60 minutes interview sold me on Prime (must watch IMO), but the following hypothetical situation continues to sell me on Prime...
Imagine that it's the last week before early signing day. Kirby and Nick are out hustling, showing up to high schools, recruits houses, etc. Who do you want to be there for Auburn? Who is the best guy to go head-to-head with our rivals, and has the ability to connect with recruits in a way they cannot? When Kirby/Nick pull up, who is the guy that makes their blood boil?
It ain't Grimes lol. Kiffin and Freeze will surely annoy and compete with Kirby/Nick (I would be happy with either of them), but Prime is the type of guy that could make them retire. NIL and the Portal have changed the rules, and Prime would allow Auburn to play with a revolutionary set of cards.
Personally, I try to be optimistic and I hope Auburn exceeds expectations every year. You don't get better lowering your expectations. There is a risk with every coaching hire, and Deion has plenty of question marks. (Who will be his OC? DC? Staff? Jump to Power 5?) But, what is the risk if we DON'T hire him? (How much energy, media coverage, fundraising, and hype will we forgo if we don't hire him?) I try not to invoke the creed much - but now is the time for Auburn to have a spirit that is not afraid. I say we roll the dice!
