One possession in the 3rd resulted in a FG to answer State's first drive and get us back up 21. It also consumed around 6 minutes of time. That pretty much puts the game out of reach barring a disaster. I'm more concerned about the defense getting gashed a lot late, although I thought the Miss St QB was dropping dimes into some really tight windows.

Out of the three possessions in the 4th Q, two did start pretty deep and the last drive featuring the long Hunter run ended deep in State territory. On the drive that started at our own 3 we did stay aggressive and I thought it almost cost us a safety and possession on the 2nd down play. Stayed aggressive on 3rd down and Payton made a really nice play to get the first down only to get it called back.

I'm not thrilled with how it ended, but it was a solid win and very good showing on offense. You can't sling the ball around too much when you're up 21 in the 4th Q. I'm more concerned that we seemed to be losing the battle up front on both sides of the ball in the 2nd half. A lot of that could simply be a product of score and scheme on both sides of the ball.
