Today I came home for lunch. I preheated my oven for a frozen pizza. Let it preheat and then put the pizza in and set timer. After time went off, I went to retrieve the pizza and it was barely cooked. I checked the temp knob to make sure I put it on the right temperature and I had. I then tried to turn the oven off and reassess. Went I turned the knob to off the oven got noticeably hotter. Then I turned back the other way and it was clear this knob was free spinning and catching every now and then. I pulled the knob off and it looks like the stems is cracked a little. Problem is, I still couldnt turn the oven off. So I pulled the oven off the wall and unplugged it. For those who know about this stuff, once I unplug the oven, natural gas will stop right? Seems obvious, but I didnt want to make any assumptions and then my house blow up or me die in my sleep or something. Anything I need to do or piece of mind that I am fine until someone can fix this oven is much appreciated. TIA.
